At the start of every year there was an important task given to the women known as the Twelve Divine Generals. Protecting a shrine with a bell that absorbed the worldly desires of all within the skydom they would each partake in cleansing the bell of those desires to purify it and allowed it to continue performing it's task for the next year. This has proven to be no easy feat though. Many incidents involving the sacred bell called Joya had occurred year after year. Each new Divine General seemed to be forced to face this challenge as an almost rite of passage. Yet this year was different.
